It was the last home meet for Hartford senior Hongxu Qian AKA Terrence, and his team ran well against North Warren/Johnsburg/Minerva. NW/JB/M swept the top three spots in the boys race but the Tanagers came away victrorious as a team 15-incomplete. Hartford had the required number of runners to be scored as a team.
Robert Hill of NW/JB/M placed first with a time of 21:00.38.
Hill's teammates Ayden Higgins (21:54:12) and Joel Rivera (22"24.63) rounded out the top three.
Hartford's Hunter Lacross finished fourth with a 22:30.33.
Hongxu Qian (22:58.59) and Bryton Mandigo (23:06.19) were fifth and sixth for the Tanagers.
Dominic Walker (33:31.07) and Esau Day (38:58.93) helped the complete Hartford squad collect the win.
On the girls side both teams were incomplete. No matter for the Tanager's Brynn Tyler who cruised to a win with a 23:51.64.
Kara Tucker of NW/JB/M was second with a 25:52.40.
Lillian San Antonio of NW/JB/M was third with a 28:49.02.
Hartford's Lilly Stowkowski was fourth with a 30:42.23.
Qian was honored as the only Hartford senior prior to the meet.
"It's been an honor to work with Terrence. We couldn't ask for a more hard-working, dedicated athlete," Hartford coach Andrew Capone said via Facebook. "I'm so excited for his senior season and look forward to some great races."
