Fair Haven Football Picks Up First Win


After falling to Division I Middelbury a week ago the Fair Haven football team picked up their first win of the season in Division II play, defeating North Country 39-14 at LaPlaca Field.


Sawyer Ramey passed for a touchdown and ran for another to lead the Slaters.Slater threw a TD pass to Matt Heibler and called his own number on a scoring run.


Tim Kendall began the scoring on a touchdown run for Fair Haven.


Trey Lee picked off a pass a returned in 55 yards for a touchdown.


Fair Haven is 1-1 on the season.

Hartford Tops Warrensburg in Volleyball


Hartford earned their second win of the season as they topped Warrensburg 3-0 in Adirondack League volleyball. Set scores were 25-8, 25=7, 25-18.


Karlee Nims led the Tanagers with 10 kills, 4 aces and seven digs. Cassie Wade had a strong match with 19 service points, three aces and four digs. Soleia Lamoureux had five digs and four aces. Mary Sutliff and Marissa Jones chipped in two aces each.


Natalie Bedarian had 10 assists, one kill, one dig, 1 ace and four service points for the Burghers. Ivy Marker added seven service points, two aces, one assist, one dig, and three kills.


Hartford is 2-0 on the young season.

North Warren Earns Historic First Soccer Win


After coming close against Granville the day before the North Warren girls soccer team won their first game in program history, edging Crown Point 4-2 in a non-league matchup.


This just the second year of the North Warren program.


Isabella Swartz gave the Cougars an early 1-0 lead, but Crown Point rallied to lead 2-1 in at the break.


North Warren took control in the second half with three straight goals.Megan Bruno scored twice and Nicole Buckman sandwiched a goal in between as the Cougars overcame the halftime deficit.


Swartz and Lena Scroggings had assists to the Cougars.


Ruth Briar had nine saves in goal for North Warren.


Kimya Hayes anchored the Cougar defense.


North Warren is 0-2, 1-2.

Warriors Blank Hartford on the Pitch


Lake George led 2-0 at the half and went on to blank Hartford 3-0 in Adirondack League boys soccer.


Sam Knauf scored a pair of first half goals for the Warriors.


Knauf scored on in the second half to close the scoring and cap off his hat trick.


Yogi Johnson earned the shutout in goal for Lake George with six saves.


Austin Wells stopped five shots for the Tanagers.


Lake George is 1-0, 2-0. Hartford is 0-1, 0-1.
