Reynolds Does it Again! Leads Tanagers Over Granville

It has been quite a memorable last seven days for Hartford's Logan Reynolds. Last Tuesday Reynolds set the course record and won the first ever home cross country race in school history. Saturday he finished a very solid 27th at the Grout Cross Country Invitational. And, most importantly he was named to my "Monday Morning Hot List." I kid of course! So, what did he do for an encore?

Last night Reynolds scored all three goals to record a hat trick in Hartford's 3-0 win over Granville under the lights at Sam Eppolitto Field. The win avenges a Tanager's loss to the Golden Horde a couple of weeks ago.

"He's kind of a freak athlete," Hartford coach Caleb Sutliff said about Reynolds after the game.

"It's pretty excting," the soft-spoken Reynolds added.

Reynolds gave Hartford a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute, and then found the back of the net for the second time on the rainy evening with 1:42 to go before the half to make it 2-0. Cody Baker slipped a perfect through pass to Reynolds to assist on the first goal.

Reynolds had several other good chances as he always seemed to be swarming around the ball. He easily could have had five or six goals if the ball had bounced the right way.

"I was just crashing. The ball was just laying their so I was crashing as hard as I could."

Reynolds put the game on ice for the Tanagers by closing out the scoring with 21 minutes to play.

Granville never quit playing and had several chances to hit the scoreboard right to the end, but Hartford goalie Austin Wells was up to the task.

Wells earned the shutout with 10 saves.

Caden Powers did his best to keep Granville close with 20 saves, some of them very difficult.

Hartford is now 4-5, 4-5. Granville is 2-7, 2-7.
