Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Blog, I'm Keith Harrington.

Lake George Reovers From Earlt Deficit to Win ADK Title

When the calendar flips to the middle of October and high school sports season champions begin to be determined, there is one thing that we can anticipate annually. Lake George and Fort Ann will be competing for the Adirondack League championship. This year was no exception.

Friday Lake George rallied from a 1-0 first half deficit to defeat Fort Ann 3-1 to win the ADK title once again at Golden Goal in Fort Ann. The victory gives the Warriors their fifth straight championship.

It didn't look good early for Lake George as the Cardinals drew first blood. Anthony Morino converted a pass from Sam Fredericks in the 15th minute to give Fort Ann an early 1-0 lead.

Lake George equalized in the final minute of the half. The Warriors were awarded a penalty kick and leading scorer Sam Knauf distributed it in the back of the net to make it 1-1 at the break.

The Knauf goal seemed to spark the Warriors. Poe Tutu gave Lake George a 2-1 advantage with a goal at the 48:29 mark on an assist from Kyle Dolan.

Knauf provided Lake George with a two-goal lead on a free kick at 50:29 and the Warriors held on the rest of the way.

Yogi Johnson had four saves for Lake George. Dylan Brown had 14 saves for Fort Ann.

Lake George is 12-0, 15-1. Fort Ann is 8-3.
