Farrell Breaks Schools Record in Horde Defeat


The Granville boys soccer team may have dropped a 3-1 decision to North Warren in Adirondack League soccer Thursday, but it was a banner afternoon for Connor Farrell.


Farrell scored the only Golden Horde goal to become the all-time lead scorer for goals in a career for the Granville program. Farrell also broke the school record for goals in a single season with the tally. Grant Gould was credited with the assist.


Granville led 1-0 at the half on Farrell's goal which came at the 26:24 mark of the first half.


The second half belonged to the Cougars. Coleman Swartz, Wyatt Jennings and Wesley Bolton hit the back of the net in the second half to spark North Warren.


Swartz added an assist.


Conner Jennings had eight saves for North Warren. Caden Powers stopped six shots for Granville.


North Warren is 5-7-1, 5-7-1. Granville is 2-10, 2-10.

Proctor Edges MSJ


The Proctor girls soccer team saw their unbeaten record threatened, but were able to edge MSJ 3-2 in an SVL matchup to stay perfect on the season.


The win marked the 100th at Proctor for coaches Chris Hughes and Scott French.


MSJ led 2-1 at the half, but the Phantoms rallied for their 1th staright win.


Megan Cole gave Proctor a 1-0 lead, but goals by Alyssa Fullam and Brooke Bishop gave the Mounties the 2-1 advantage.


Laci French equalized for the Phantoms on a long direct kick. Maggie McKearin scored on a header in the final 10 minutes to give Proctor the win.


Proctor is 11-0. MSJ is 6-2-1.

Hartford Stays Hot with Win Over B-W


There may not be a team in the Adirondack League hotter than the Hartford boys soccer team. While some teams falter late in the season the Tanager seem to be hitting their stride.


Hartford scored a goal in the first half and it turned out to be enough as the Tanagers stayed hot with a 1-0 win on the road over Bolton-Warrensburg.


Michael Jones was the hero in this contest. Jones scored the only game of the game in the 11th minute and the Tanagers made it stand up.


Austin Wells recorded the shutout with eight saves for the Tanagers. Shane Baker had 11 saves for the Eagles.


Hartford is 6-5, 7-5. Bolton-Warrensburg is 5-7, 6-10.

Fair Haven Rolls Over Mill River


Fair Haven opened up the flood gates a poured in a bunch of goals as they rolled over Mill River 10-0 in SVL girls soccer.


Brittney Love and Madison Perry led the way for the Slaters. Love and Perry hit the back of the net twice each.


Elizabeth Love, Ella Kuehn, Julia Carrara, Lily Briggs, Ashley Carvey, and Kate Hadwen. also scored for Fair Haven.


Fair Haven is 9-2-2. Mill River is 1-10-1.
