Slaters Eliminated in Division III Semifinals


It has been an outstanding season for the Fair Haven field hockey team, but the Slaters came up a little short in transforming the campaign into a "Dream Season." Windsor moved on to the Vermont Division III championship game on Tuesday by blanking Fair Haven 5-0.


The Yellowjackets will now have a shot at their third consecutive Division III crown. Windsor will next meet Lyndon Institute on Saturday at UVM in the championship game.


Windsor took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal from Peyton Richardson.


Alexina Peckinpaugh made it 2-0 Windsor with a goal in the second quarter.


Janiah Young scored just two minutes later to extend the Yellowjacket's advantage to 3-0 at the half.


Windsor put the game out of reach with a pair of second half goals. Richardson hit the back of the cage for the second time of the contest to make it 4-0 Windsor.


Gabriella Gilbert converted a pass from Piper Vivian to close out the scoring.


An injury to Alexis Murray was a severe blow to the Fair Haven chances.


Lindsey Young earned the shutout in the cage for Windsor. Despite being under heavy diress the entire game, Bailey Pettis played well for the Slaters.


Fair Haven ends their highly sucessful season at 5-10-1.

Argyle Falls in Class D Finals


A great late season run by the Argyle boys soccer team came to an end Tuesday night as the Scots fell to OESJ in the Section II Class D championship game.


#2 OESJ dominated the entire way as they scored right out of the gate and never looked back.


The Wolves took an early 1-0 lead on a goal from Andrew Snell just 3:15 into the game.


Mason Snell found the back of the net in the 32nd minute with an assist from Andrew Snell to extend the lead to 2-0 for OESJ.


The final goal of rhe day came when Mason Snell scored his second of the contest with 25:36 remaining to give the Wolves a 3-0 edge.


Owen Feagles recorded the shutout for OESJ, having to make just one stop.


Jared Montello had 12 saves in goal for Argyle.


OESJ is now 15-2-1 and moves on to state regional play.


Argyle closes the season with a mark of 7-5-2.
