Border Country Sports Blog-July 29th

Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Blog, I'm Keith Harrington.

Well, how's it going everyone? I haven't blogged in a few days as I am on vacation in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee with my family. We are having a fantastic time, but I had a little free time on my hands this morning so I decided to catch up with you.

When we are not out touring around in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge I have been watching a lot of the Olympic coverage. I have loved the Olympics since I was a kid. I love seeing sports that we would not normally be able to watch. As a matter of fact I am watching them while I am typing this as new Knick Luca Vildoza is playnig for Aregentina. I also love supporting the athletes of our country. When no Americans are competing I pull for the athletes and teams from my wife's native land, China.

The highlight of my Olympic watching expereience came last night when I watched former Williams College women's soccer star Kristi Kirshe score a pair of tries, the equivalent of a football touchdown, for Team USA in a win over China. Kirshe's two scored broke open a 7-7 tie. Kirshe was a Division III All-American for the Ephs. I called countless Williams games for NSN while Kirshe was playing for the Ephs.
