Granville to Hold "Lights Week"

The traditional "Lights Week" in Granville begins tonight with a full schedule of games on tap under the portable lights. Every Granville fall sports team will be in action.

Tonight at Sam Eppolito Field the Golden Horde boys soccer team will meet Bolton-Warrensburg. The Eagles are currently sitting on top of the Adirondack League with a 6-0 mark.

Tuesday night at Sam Eppolito Field the Granville girls soccer team will host rival Whitehall. Both teams have struggled to earn wins in the league this season making this a very competitive contest.

Wednesday could be the marquee game of the week when the Granville Field hockey team plays Salem-Cambridge at Quaker Elementary. The teams just played a couple of weeks ago with the Golden Horde winning in a shootout.

Since they always play under the lights in a high school gym, the Golden Horde volleyball team's game has a different twist. Granville will meet Corinth on Wednesday in the annual Assembly Game at 1:00 p.m.

On Friday night the action shifts back to Sam Eppolito Field as the Granville-Whitehall football team in their first merged season tackles Mechanicville-Hoosic Valley. Granville-Whitehall is searching for the programs first win and may have a good opportunity. Mechanicville-Hoosic Valley is coming off a 50-0 loss to Warrensburg-Lake George. They are 2-2 on the season.

All of the games kick off at 7:00 p.m. with the exception of the volleyball game.
