Granville Golf Opens With a Win


The Granville golf team opened their season on a successful note, topping Fort Edward 3-1 in Adirondack League golf. The match was played at Hartford Greens in Hartford.


Andrew Rathbun of the Golden Horde fired a 42 to earn medalist honors.


Rathbun defeated Andrew Fish 3-1.


Logan Harrington of Granville topped Beau Boucher, 4-2.


Avery Flory and Danny Boucher played to a tie.


Nathan Williams edged Preston Gulick, 2-1.


Fort Edward's Calvin Boucher defeated Ethan Martelle, 1 up.


Granville is 1-0. Fort Edward is 0-1.

Burr and Burton Cruises Past Fair Haven in Boys Soccer


Burr and Burton raced out to a big halftime lead and went on to cruise past Fair Haven 6-1 Wednesday in boys high school soccer.


The Bulldogs scored three times in the fist half. Carson Beavin. gave BBA a 1-0 lead off a beautiful pass from Madox Mathews.


Beavin scored two more goals in the half, the second one off of an assist from Judd Gourley.


Alex Wasyliko, freshman Nahui Navarrete and Matt Grabher added second half goals for the Bulldogs.


Nick Carrabino tallied for the Slaters.


Emmett Edwards and Will Morell combined for five saves for BBA.


Kole Matta stopped 12 shots for Fair Haven.


Burr and Burton is 1-0. Fair Haven is 0-1.
