Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Harrington's Goal Wins Game For Tanagers


A late goal by Ray Harrington proved to be the game-winner as Hartford opened the season with a 1-0 victory over Salem-Cambridge on their home pitch.


Harrington's goal came with 4:05 remaining. Harrington collected a loose ball after a Cody Baker shot delected off the defense and deposited it in the back of the net.


Nate Fiske scored early in the contest to give the Tanagers a 1-0 lead.


Ryan Stevens equalized for Salem-Cambridge to set up Harrington's heroics.


Drake Stewart had a huge defensive play for Hartford.


Austin Wells had five saves for the Tanagers. Carter Hamilton had seven stops for Salem-Cambridge.


Hartford is 1-0. Salem-Cambridge is 0-1.

Bolton-Warrensburg Nips Whitehall


Most people expected that Bolton-Warrensburg and Whitehall would be contenders in the Adirondack League in girls soccer this season. If yesterday is any indication they may be spot on.


The teams played even for over 80 minutes before Bolton-Warrensburg scored in overtme to nip the Railroaders 1-0.


Zailey Baker scored the game winner for B-W 4:08 into the first extra session.


Hope Sherman recorded her third shutout of the season.


Khloe Paddock has 18 saves for the Railroaders.


Bolton-Warrensburg is 1-0, 3-0. Whitehall is 0-1, 1-3.

Hadley-Luzerne Rolls Over Granville


Hadley-Luzerne opened Adirondack League play, rolling over Granville 11-0 in girls soccer.


Carolina Lott-Diamond led the Eagles with six goals and an assist.


Kayden Beaver scored twice for Hadley-Luzerne. Cayden Williams, Hannah Johnson and Dakota Bellrose also hit the back of the net. It was the first career goal for Bellrose.


Madison Lent earned the shuout in goal with four saves.


Hadley-Luzerne is 1-0. Granville is 0-1.

Fort Ann Blanks Cougars


Fort Ann earned their first Adirondack League win of the season, blanking North Warren 9-0.


Paige Trzaskos scored three goals for the Cardinals. Savannah Aratare and Olivia Winchell added two goals each.


Angel Aratare and Kayliegh Hardy also scored.


Baylee Wright made just one save to pick up the shutout in goal.


Ruth Brior had 20 saves for North Warren.


Fort Ann is 1-0, 3-0. North Warren is 0-1, 0-1.
