Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Fair Haven Falls Short Against Bratt


Fair Haven drove deep into Brattleboro territory late in the game, but the Colonels held them off for a hard-fought 10-6 win in Vermont Division II football.


The Slaters navigated their wat to the Brattleboro 10 yard line but the Colnoel's defense slammed the door shut.


Brattleboro led 7-6 at the half and got a field goal to increase the margin to 10-6 before their defensive stand.


Dave Doran scored for Fair Haven on a one yard run.


Brattleboro is now 2-2 on the season. Fair Haven is also 2-2.

Hoosick Falls-Tamarac Blanks Granville-Whitehall


Hoosick Falls-Tamarac jumped out to an early lead and went on to defeat Granville-Whitehall 38-0 Friday night at Sam Eppolito Field.


The Wildcats led 14-0 after a quarter then used a safety, one of two on the evening to increase their advantage to 16-0 at the half.


Hoosick Falls-Tamarac parlayed three more touchdowns and a second safety in the second half to pull way for the victory.


Bryan Mackey scored on a 20 yard scamper on the Wildcat's opening drive and James Blake caught a 29 yard strike from Jake Sparks to make it 14-0 after a quarter. Nevin Wilkie connected on both PAT kicks.


In the third Sparks called his own number and scored from three yards out. The Wildcats also scored on a 52 yard punt return.


Dylan Grogan rounded out the scoring for Hoosick Falls-Tamarac on a touchdown run.


CJ Monty had the best run of the night for Granville-Whitehall in the fourth quarter to set his team up in the red zone, but the Wildcat's defense stiffened to preserve the shutout.


Despite another tough loss Granville-Whitehall coach Darin Eggleston praised his team's effort even though he is clearly discouraged.


"I will say one thing about this team, they just never give up," Eggleston said. "For me, the last two weeks I was discouraged, but at the same time I was like you know what, there's nothing we can do. Those teams are just powerhouses."


Hoosick Falls-Tamarac is now 3-0. Granville-Whitehall falls to 0-4.

Lake George Edges Fort Ann in Girls Soccer


Lake George kept their record perfect as they edged Fort Ann 1-0 in Adirondack League girls soccer.


Lila Fasier scored off a pass from Lara Stanco to give the Warriors the key 1-0 victory in a hotly contested ADK race.


Alivia Dean and Alex Cavalier combined for the shutout for Lake George . Baylee Wright had seven saves for the Cardinals.


Lake George is now 4-0 in league play.

Greenwich Hands Bolton-Warrensburg First Loss


Greenwich handed Bolton-Warrensburg their first loss of the season, topping the Witches 2-1 on a non-league matchup.


Sarah Radovich scored the game-winner for the Witches off a pass from Liz Marci.


Marci scored the first goal for Greenwich on a penalty kick.


Kara Bacon scored for B-W.


Oliveah Reiszel stopped six shots for Greenwich. Hope Sherman had 16 saves for the Eagles.


Bolton-Warrensburg is now 8-1.

Hartford Volleyball Sweeps Granville


The Hartford volleyball picked up a win Friday night, sweeping Granville 3-0 in an Adirondack League contest.


Set scores were 25-10, 25-12, 25-13.


Raeghan Liebig led the Tanagers with nine kills and six aces. Cassie Wade added 15 assists and three aces.


Ava Nadeau served up six aces in the win. Haleigh Grygas chipped in seven kills.


Lily Strout had four digs, three aces and three kills for the Golden Horde. Vivian Green had four assists and a block. Haley Lacoste and Mara Haskins each had three digs and a block.


Hartford is now 3-3. Granville is 1-5.
