Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Granville Field Hockey Stays Unbeaten


After an emotional shoot out win over Salem-Cambridge 24 hours earlier one might understand if the Granville field hockey came out a little sluggish on Friday. The Golden Horde did fall behind early, but then scored three unanswered goals to defeat Corinth 3-1 in Adirondack-Wasaren League action.


"It was a battle from start to finish," Granville coach Katie Barber said.


The Tomahawks grabbed the lead quickly. Aubrey Lozier converted a Kaylee Gregory pass to give Corinth a 1-0 lead with 13:15 to go in the first quarter.


Raegan Swain scored with 2:49 remaining in the opening stanza to equalize for the Golden Horde.


In the second period Granville grabbed the lead on an unassisted goal from Natalie Williams at the 9:56 mark.


Claire Gould scored off an assist from Haylie Barber to put it away for Granville in the third.


Granville finished with 12 shots on goal and and two offensive corners.


Megan Decker had eight saves in goal for the Golden Horde. On defense Megan Hover had two stick saves.


Granville is now 4-0, 6-0.

Fair Haven Girls Soccer Wins Again


Fair Haven remained unbeaten on the season as they defeated Woodstock 5-2 Friday night. The contest was played under the light at Thomas LaPlaca Field.


The Slaters led 3-1 at halftime and held off the Wasps the rest of the way.


Elizabeth Love, Brittney Love and Lily Briggs each connected with the back of the net for Fair Haven.


Briggs scored her second goal of the night in the second half. Ayame Merkel also scored.


Fair Haven is now 4-0 on the season.

Argyle Volleyball Handles Rival Tanagers


Argyle defeated their Route 40 rivals Hartford 3-0 in Adirondack League volleyball. The Humistons proved to be just two much for the Tanagers.


Set scores were 25-23, 25-16, 25-21.


Carrie Humiston led the Scots with eight assists, four kills and three digs.


Kyle Humiston finished with two kills, two assists, nine digs and an ace. Raegan Humiston had three kills and three blocks.


Cailin Severance had a nice match for the Tanagers with 10 digs.


Argyle is 3-1. Hartford is 2-2.

Phantoms Edge Arlington in Title Game Rematch


In a rematch of last season's Vermont Division IV championship game Proctor edged Arlington 4-3 Friday night under the lights in Arlington.


The game was tied 3-3 after regulation and went to overtime.


Emma Palmer scored two goals in regulation for Proctor and Jenna Davine one.


Isabel Greb scored the game-winner for the Phantoms in the first extra session.


Proctor is now 3-1 on the season.

Granville Volleyball Earns First Win


The Granville volleyball team earned their first win of the season, defeating Warrensburg 3-1. The Golden Horde dropped the opening set but won the next three.


Set scores were 21=25, 25-21, 25-9 and 25-11.


Lilly Strout led Granville with seven kills, five aces, and two digs. Emily Monroe served six aces in the match.


Emma Hover added two aces, two kills and two blocks.


For Warrensburg Kate Sesselman had 13 assists, two service points and an ace. Emma Belanger added six kills, three digs, five service points and two aces. Bridgette Annaman had six service points, four kills, four digs and two aces.

Argyle Blanks Granville in Lights Game


Argyle hosted their annual Lights Game and made short work of Granville in a 9-0 romp in Adirondack League boys soccer.


Connor Brockway recorded a hat trick to lead the way for the Scots.


Ben Cuthbert added two goals for Argyle.


Carsen Bartow, Shea Squires, Cayden McWhorter and Gavin Porter also scored for the Scots.
