Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Cambridge and Corinth Advance in Soccer Tournament


Cambridge and Corinth will meet today in the championship game of the Cambridge Girls Soccer Tournament. Both teams advance with opening round wins on Saturday. The title match is scheduled for 11 a.m.


Corinth needed to go to penalty kicks to advance after playing ADK rival Hadley-Luzerne to a 2-2 tie.


The Eagles took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Carolina Lott-Diamond with an assist from Hannah Johnson.


Maddy Baldes scored to draw the Tomahawks even in the second half. Johnson answered to make it 2-1 Hadley-Luzerne.


Baldes scored her second goal with sx minutes to play to force overtime. Madison Pincheon picked up the assist.


After two extra sessions didn't decide a winner Corinth advanced on penalty kicks.


Madison Lent again was stellar in the Hadley-Luzerne goal with 27 saves.


Teagan Kilinski stopped 11 shots for Corinth.


In the other first round game host Cambridge cruised past Granville 10-1.


Addy Gates recorded a hat trick to lead the way for Cambridge.


Maize Steele added a pair of goals for Cambridge. Tristan Crandall, Sam Crandall, Laurel Leary, Mia Alpy and Schuylar Nolan also hit the back of the net.

Hudson Falls Earns Girls Tennis Victory


The Hudson Falls girls tennis team won all five singles matches and went on to defeat South Glens Falls 5-2 in Foothills Council play.


Maggie Potvin defeated Emma Potter, 6-2, 6-3 for the Tigers. Nadilee Bailey topped Natalie Keegan, 6-2, 6-2. Maddie Sawyer swept. Peyton Di Dio, 6-3, 6-4. Emily Harrington edged Emma Potter 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. Mya Strong got by Emily Kamber, 6-1, 6-4. The Bulldogs earned wins in both doubles matches.


Tessa Hogan and Tori Young defeated Maggie Traver and Caliegh Zahiba, 6-1, 6-1.

Bridget Hubert and Morgan Potter topped Alex Hogan and Nora Felton, 6-2, 6-2.

MSJ Soccer Remains Unbeaten


The MSJ girls soccer team continued their solid start to the season as they defeated Long Trail 3-1 Saturday for their third stright win.


Senior Lauren Costales scored a pair of goals for the Mounties. Eighth grader Isabelle Anderson assisted on both goals by Costales.


Anderson also scored a goal of her own early in the seond half to make it 2-0 after Costales opened the scoring.


Meara Morgan scored a goal for Long Trail.


Cindy Carranza had 11 saves for MSJ. Molly Luikart stopped 13 shots for Long Trail.


MSJ is now 3-0 on the season.

Tigers Fall to Scotia in Close One


Hudson Falls led at the half and early in the fourth quarter, but could not hold on as they fell to Scotia 27-22 in Section II Class B football.


The trailed 6-0 after a quarter but a pair of second quarter scores gave them a 14-12 lead at the half.


Two fourth quarter touchdowns allowed the Tartans to come from behind for the win.


Will Coon hit Deonzae Bright for two touchdown passes for Hudson Falls. Bright caught TD passes of 72 and 23 yards from Coon.


Bryce Layton passed for 222 yards and three scores for Scotia.


Nate Jackson had a touchdown run to give the Tigers a 22-19 lead in the fourth quarter.


Nick Coons returned an interception for a touchdown for Hudson Falls.


Scotia is 2-0. Hudson Falls is 0-2.
