Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Fair Haven Tops Missisquoi Valley in Division III Field Hockey


#2 Fair Haven advanced to the Division III Field Hockey semifinals, topping #7 Missisquoi Valley 3-0 on Tuesday.


Fair Haven jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first quarter on a goal a goal from Alana Williams.


The Slaters increased their lead in the second quarter when Emilee HIggins scored on a pass from Williams to make it 2-0.


Fair Haven closed out the scoring in the third when Vivian Ladabouche scored off an assist from Jaylena Haley.


Fair Haven improved to 8-6-1 and will play the winner of the quarterfinal between No. 3 Lyndon Institute and No. 6 Harwood, who play Thursday afternoon.


Missisquoi Valley ends the season 4-10-1.

Danville Ends Poultney Girls Soccer Season


#8 Danville ended the season of #9 Poultney on Tuesday, shutting out the Blue Devils 3-0 in the Division IV quarterfinals.


Danville took an early lead and never let it go. Lilli Klark scored in the fourth minute to give the Bears a 1-0 lead and it turned out to be all they would need.


Lilah Hall found the back of the net twice for Danville.


Vanessa Foster had two assists for the Bears. Sloan Morse also had an assis.


Bella Mack, Georgia Donaldson, Hannah Welch, Kenzie Ezzo played strong games for the Blue Devils.


Poultney ends the season 7-8.

Proctor Blanks Twinfield/Cabot in Playoff Opener


The three time defending champion Proctor girls soccer team opened their quest for a four-peat as they blanked Twinfield/Cabot 4-0 in a Division IV opening round contest.


The #15 Trojans were tied with the #2 Phantoms at the half, but Proctor imposed their will over the final 40 minutes.


Isabel Greb connected for two goals to lead the Phantoms.


Jenna Davine had a goal and an assist for Proctor. Emma Palmer also had a goal.


Cadence Goodwin had the shutout in goal for Proctor with two saves.


Ida Astick stopped 11 shots for Twinfield/Cabot.


Proctor is now 12-3 and will face #10 Rivendell Friday at home in the quarterfinals.

Raptors Defeat Westside on Penalty Kicks


#10 Rivendell defeated #7 West Rutland Tuesday 3-1 in penalty kicks to advance to the Vermont Division IV girls soccer quarterfinals.


The game was tied 0-0 through regulation time and the ensuing overtime periods.


Peyton Guay hit the back of the net during the PK session for the lone Golden Horde goal.


Bella Combs was outstanding in goal for Westside with nine saves to slow down the Raptors.


Ryleigh Butler had 12 stops for Rivendell.


West Rutland finishes the season 9-5-1.

Local Teams Heading to Volleyball Playoffs


Several local volleyball teams are set to seek Section II volleyball crowns as pairings were announced yesterday.


In Class D, unbeaten Lake George at 16-0 is the #1 seed. The Warriors earn a first round bye and will await the winner of #8 Hartford and #9 Fort Edward.


Argyle is ranked #3 and will meet #6 Duanesburg Friday at home in their opener.


In Class C Corinth earned the #5 seed and will meet #12 Voorheesville at home today.


Hudson Falls was awarded the #2 seed in Class B. The Tigers will open play Friday against #7 Emma Willard.
