Border Country Sports-October 23rd
Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.
Poultney Closes Regular Season With Shutout
The Poultney girls soccer team closed their regular season by shutting out Twin Valley 3-0 on the road Saturday morning. The Blue Devils have faced a great deal of illness and injuries during the season so coach Hannah Corkum elected to rest many of her players to prepare for the playoffs.
It didn't matter. Using a few junior varsity players to fill in Poultney won their second in a row to pull to the .500 mark.
Kaydyn L'Esperance was involved in two of the Blue Devil goals. L'Espearnce scored one goal of her own and caused a second after her corner kick went off a Wildcat's defender for an own goal.
Kait DeBonis scored also hit the back of the net for Poultney with a penalty kick.
Kenzie earned the shutout in goal.
Poultney moves on to what they hope will be a deep playoff run with a 7-7 record.
