Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Hartford Claims "The Jug" With Win oVer Scots


It was a packed house at Hartford Central School for the annual Jug Game between the Tanagers boys soccer team and age-old rival Argyle. The Hartford fans who came out in droves didn't go away disappointed as their team came away with a 3-1 victory to retain "The Jug."


Cody Baker scored twice and Ryan Morrow also found the back of the net for the Tanagers.


Morrow scored on the rebound of a Nate Fiske shot to give Hartford a 1-0 lead with 5:37 left in the first half.


The Scots managed to equalize when Conner Buck scored on a penalty kick early in the second half to make it 1-1.


Hartford regained the lead when Baker scored his first goal of the night off an assist from Ray Harrington on a throw-in.


Baker iced the game away for the Tanagers with a goal off a helper from Aiden Swezey.


Austin Wells had five saves in goal for Hartford.


Andrew Fish stopped nine shots for the Scots.


The Jug will now make its home in Hartford for the next year until the two squads put it on the line again.

Slaters Pull Away from Mount Mansfield in Second Half


Fair Haven scored three consecutive touchdowns in the second half to pull away from Mount Mansfield for a 35-12 in high school football at LaPlaca Field.


Far Haven led at the half after Joe Buxton fired a scoring pass to Carson Babbie and ran for a touchdown himself.


The Cougars scored to open the second half, but it was all Slaters after that.


Buxton went to work, first tossing a TD pass to Phil Bean to take control once again.


Fair Haven put the game out of reach in the fourth when Buxton connected on scoring passes with Babbie for the second time, then Trey Lee.


Fair Haven is 3-2. Mount Mansfield is 0-5.

Fair Haven Girls Soccer Wins


The Fair Haven girls soccer team continued their winning way as they defeated Woodstock 4-2 on Friday afternoon.


The Wasps led 1-0 at halftime, but it was all Fair Haven after the intermission.


Brittney Love and Elizabeth Love scored two goals apiece in the second half to pace the Slaters.


Lily Briggs added three assists.


Fair Haven moves to 6-0 on the season.

Cambridge-Salem Rolls Over Rival Witches


Cambridge-Salem continued to show that they are indeed for real this season as the rolled to a 44-0 win over rival Greeniwch in Class D football.


Evan Day led Cambridge-Greenwich with four touchdowns and 137 yards rushing on 13 carries.


Brice Burr added two touchdowns and 100 yards on the ground on 16 touches.


Cambridge-Salem led 30-0 at the half.


Cambridge-Greenwich is 4-0, 5-0. Greenwich is 3-1, 3-2.

Warrensburg-Lake George Stays Perfect With Win Over Stillwater


Warrensburg-Lake George stayed perfect on the season as they blew past Stillwater 54-18 in Class C football.


Brody McCabe ran for 289 yards and three scored on a whopping 31 carries for the Wolverines.


Landon Olden added 206 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.


The Wolverines led just 16-12 at halftime but blew the game open after that.


Tristen Hitchcock added an 11 yard TD run.


Caden Allen passed to Luke Sheldon for a 16 yard score.


Lukas Lilac scored three touchdowns for the Warriors.


Warrensburg-Lake George rushed for 572 yards in the contest.


Warrensburg-Lake George is 4-0, 5-0. Stillwater is 2-2, 3-2.
