Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.


Golden Horde Defeat Poultney


West Rutland compeleted the season series sweep of Poultney, defeating the Blue Devils 4-1 on Thursday. The game was contested on the Blue Devil's home pitch on a rainy afternoon.


Poultney was playing a few younger players and some others in new positions in their lineup as they were missing several key starters.


Arianna Coombs recorded a hat trick to lead the Golden Horde.


Peyton Guay also scored for Westside off an assist from Coombs. Hannah Cecot was also credited with an assist.


Eme Silverman scored for the Blue Devils. It was her first career varsity goal. Hannah Welch had the assist.


Bella Coombs had 11 saves.for West Rutland. Kenzie Ezzo stopped 15 saves for Poultney.


West Rutland is 8-4. Poultney is 4-5.

Fair Haven Blanks Mill River


Fair Haven continued to roll in girls high school soccer as they blanked Mill River on Thursday.


Brittney Love had a huge game for the Slaters scoring four and recording three assists.


Lily Briggs, Elizabeth Love and Holly Gannon also hit the back of the net for Fair Haven.


Gannon and Elizabeth Love also each had an assist.


Kate Hadwen had the shutout in goal for the Slaters.


Fair Haven is now 10-0 in the seaosn. Mill River is 1-11.

Hartford Tops in Lake George in ADK Crossover Game


A couple of weeks ago it had been years since Hartford could boast a win over Lake George in soccer. Heck, they hadn't even managed a goal against them. Now the Tanagers have beaten the Warriors twice in a season. Hartford topped Lake George 2-0 in an Adirondack League crossover game Thursday to complete a season sweep of Lake George.


Hartford jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening half and made it stand up the rest of the way.


Zack Backus gave the Tanagers a 1-0 lead off an assist from Nate Fiske.


Fiske made it a two goal game at the half with a goal off an assist from Ryan Morrow.


Austin Wells earned the shutout with seven saves in goal for Hartford.


Brad Erceg stopped 11 saves for the Warriors.

Granville Girls Soccer Defeats North Warren


The Granville girls soccer team picked up their third win of the season, defeating North Warren 3-2 in an Adirondack League crossover game.


The Golden Horde trailed 2-0 at the half but managed to fight back for the win.


Teaghan Cutter scored with 3:30 left in the contest to povide the game-winner for Granville.


Paige Taylor connected with the back of the net twice to bring the Golden Horde even in the second half.


Kiki LaGuerre scored twice for North Warren.


Granville is now 3-10 on the season.

Fair Haven Boys Edge Twin Valley


Fair Haven earned their biggest win of the season, edging a strongTwin Valley sqaud 5-4 in double-overtime.


Jack Spaulding scored the game-winner for the Slaters in the secind extra session. Sullivan O'Brien.assisted on the Golden Goal.


Fair Haven led 2-0 but the game was a see-saw affair after that.


The Slaters found themselves trailing 4-3 but Matt Finnegan scored on a direct kick with two minutes to play to send the game to overtime.


Jace Hetrick and Andrew Smith also scored for Fair Haven. Hetrick, and Nate Young added assists.


Kole Matta had a strong game in goal for Fair Haven.


Fair Haven is now 3-7 on the season.

Lake George Sweeps Hartford in Volleyball


Lake George remained unbeaten in Adirondack League volleyball, sweeping Hartford 3-0 on the Tanager's home court.


Set scores were 25-20, 25-7, 25-11.


Maddie Burke led the Lake George attack with 21 digs and six kills.


Shannon Starratt contributed 25 assists and five digs. Evie Burke chipped in 12 kills, six digs, and two aces.


Raeghan Liebig paced the Tanagers with 10 digs and three kills. Addison Potts added four kills and one block. Cailin Severance had 16 digs.


Hartford is now 6-6 on the season.
