Local Players Hit the Field For Exceptional Senior Game
Local high school football players were among those who hit the field last night for the Section II Exceptional Seniors football game. 108 of the top high school seniors in the section, 54 for each side played in the annual contest held at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy.
Alex Torres of Granville-Whitehall was one of the players who competed on the North squad. Torres, who just received his first Division I offer was listed on the roster as a defensive back.
Other players from the area on the team included Seth Tedesco of Corinth/Fort Edward/Hadley-Luzerne and Logan Staunton and Nate Jackson of Hudson Falls.
No other details on last night's game were available at this time.

Warrensburg-Lake George Faces Gouverneur Tonight
The Warrensburg-Lake George football team continues along the "Road to the Dome" tonight. The Wolverines will face Section X champion Gouverneur in the Class C state quarterfinals at 7 p.m. this evening at Mechanicville High School.
Warrensburg-Lake George is 11-0 and defeated Schuylerville 20-7 for the Section II Class title last weekend. Quite an accomplishment for a first year merged program of former rivals.
The Wolverines are ranked 4th in the state in Class C.
Gouverneur enters the contest with an 8-1 mark.
The winner of tonight's game moves to the state semifinals on November 26th to meet Westlake or James I. O'Neill at Middletown High School.

Bennington Martens Play Twice This weekend
If you are looking for some sports entertainment this weekend make the short drive to Bennington for some exciting American Basketball Association action.
The Bennington Martens of the ABA will be home Sunday to take on the Providence Pirates. The Martens currently have a record of 2-3 after dropping a home game against Catskill and a road game at Wyoming Valley last weekend.
The Pirates are one of the top teams in the ABA Northeast Division and sport a 3-0 record in the early part of the season.
Bennington will be on the road on Saturday against the Binghampton Bulldogs.
Game time Sunday in Bennington is 3 p.m. Door open at 2:30 p.m.
The Martens play their home games at the Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington.
