Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I'm Keith Harrington.
Jimmer Fredette Leads The Money in TBT Win
It had been awhile since Jimmer Fredette had played in a competitive basektball game. Of course he had been sharpening his skills by showing up at some pick up runs near his Colorado home, but this was a much bigger challenge. Anyone who thought the former top 10 NBA pick was going to be rusty should think again!
As one person said, "every play Jimmer made was a highlight play" as The Money Team topped 71-67 over Athletics Miami in the opening round of The Basketball Tournament in Dayton, Ohio.
Fredette from Glens Falls, the former national Player of the Year and 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, went off with a dominating effort for The Money Team chalking up 29 PTS, 5 REB & 3 AST on 9-19 FG to help his team advance to the second round of the event.
The Money Team let a nine point lead slip away but were still able to pull out the win.
The Money Team, the number one seed now advances to face the #4 The Men of Mackey.
Corey Davis and Xavier Munford added nine points each.
