Burghers Claim Khoury Tournament Title
Warrensburg claimed the title of the George Khoury Tip-Off Tournament, topping Heatly in the championship game 49-42.
Steve Schloss led the Burghers to the victory with a double-double. Schloss scored 25 points and hauled in 10 rebounds.
Brady Cheney and Evan Lapell also contributed double-doubles. Cheney had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lapell had 10 points and 10 boards.
L.J. McCarthy led the Hornets with 15 points and Aiden Diaz added 11.
Schloss was named the tournament Most Valuable Player. Lapell was named to the all-tournament team, along with Heatly’s McCarthy and Aidan Stone, Brayden Poirier of Johnsburg-Minerva and Chase Brooks of Wells.
Warrensburg is 2-0 on the season.

Greenwich Rolls Past Tanagers
Greenwich won their second game of the season, rolling oast Hartford 81-46 in a non-league contest.
The Witches put this one away early, leading 45-16 at halftime and never looking back.
Joe Skiff led the Witches with a 30 point effort. Jacob Ziehm added 14.
Robert Barnes chipped in nine points and Jack Saunders eight for Greenwich.
Ray Harrington had 14 points for the Tanagers. Nate Fiske added nine.
Greenwich is 2-0. Hartford is 0-1.

Warrensburg Girls Cruise Past Spa Catholic
Warrensburg jumped out to a big first half lead and went on to cruise past Spa Catholic 64-25 in a non-league girls basketball contest.
The Burghers led the Saints 34-10 at halftime.
Kara Bacon led Warrensburg with 19 points.
Elli York and Hope Sherman each added 12 points for Warrensburg.
Grace Schaefer led the Saints with 13 points. Rylee Cornell had seven.
Warrensburg is 1-1 on the season.

Corinth Defeats Black Horses
Corinth bounced back from a loss to begin the season with a 47-36 non-league victory over Schuylerville.
Emily Dingmon filled up the stat sheet for the Tomahwks with 20 points, 12 rebound and seven assists.
Taylor Stone added 14 points for Corinth. Alexis Crossman pulled down 18 rebounds and had four steals as well as hitting key free throws down the stretch.
Macey Koval led the Black Horses with 13 points.
Corinth is now 1-1 on the season.
