Border Country Sports-December 1st

Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report Powered by NYVT Media, I'm Keith Harrington.

Howland Leads Whitehall to Win in Opener

Unlike many teams in the Adirondack League who lost several key players, the Whitehall girls basketball team has nearly all of their key weapons returning. The Railroaders flexed their muscles Wednesday night as they rolled past Hoosic Valley 45-22 in their non-league season opener.

Defense is typically the calling card of Boyd Hunt's teams and it was that end of the court that provided the catalyst against Hoosic Valley.

Whitehall led 25-8 at halftime and maintained control the rest of the way.

Samantha Howland had a strong game for the Railroaders, pouring in 18 points.

Madison Gould added 10 points for Whitehall.

Kaylee Smith had seven points for Hoosic Valley.

Whitehall is 1-0. Hoosic Valley is 0-1.
