Lake George Edges Fort Ann in ADK Showdown
Lake George and Fort Ann renewed their annual battle for the top spot in the Adirondack League on Wednesday. When the dust settled the Warriors remained undefeated, edging the Cardinals 2-1 in boys soccer. It was the first league loss of the season for Fort Ann.
Lake Geroge struck early in the contest. Sam Knauf gave the Warriors a 1-0 at the 1:30 mark of the first half.
Fort Ann equalized in the 25th minute when Dakota Winch converted an Anthony Marino pass.
Knauf scored again in the 32nd minute to give Lake George the 2-1 advantage at the half, and it is all the Warriors needed.
Kristian Johnson had seven saves for Lake George. Dylan Brown had six saves for Fort Ann.
Lake George is now 7-0, 9-1. Fort Ann is 5-1, 6-3.

DeBonis Hat Trick Leads Poultney Over Long Trail
Kaitlyn DeBonis had a huge game as she led Poultney over Long Trail 4-1 in SVL girls soccer action. It was the second win in a row after a three game losing skid for the young Blue Devils.
DeBonis hit the back of the net three times to record her first career hat trick. She nowhas nine goals on the season.
DeBonis gave Poultney a 1-0 lead before Long Trail got even on a goal from Olivia Cole-Bugay.
Poultney led 2-1 at the break but pulled away from the Mountain Lions in the second half.
Annaleice Taylor also scored for the Blue Devils.
Poultney is now 5-3 on the season.

Lake George Hands Hartford Second Straight Loss
Lake George continued to roll in Adirondack League volleyball by handing Hartford their second straight loss.
Set scores 21-25, 25-11, 25-11, 25-16.
The Tanagers came out strong on their home court by grabbing the first set, but the Warriors recovered to win the next three.
Maddie Burke led Lake George with 16 digs, 15 service points and eight aces. Ella Fox contributed 16 digs, nine kills, nine service points and 1 ace. Shannon Starratt added 17 service points, five kills, five digs and five aces. Olivia Gates had 10 kills, five digs and eight service points. Evie Burke chipped in eight kills and seven service points.
Gabbie McFarren paced the Tanagers with 15 digs, 14 service points and four aces. Izzy French had 13 assists, seven digs and three blocks. Sarah Monroe added 12 kills and five digs. Karlee Nims had seven kills and two blocks.
Lake George is 5-0, 6-0. Hartford is 5-2, 6-2.

Farrell Scores Four to Lead Granville to Win
Connor Farrell had a monster game as Granville earned their second win of the season, topping Corinth 5-1 in ADK boys soccer at Sam Eppolito Field. Farrell scored four goals to move into second all-time in Granville scoring.
Granville led 3-0 at the half and finished the job in the final 40 minutes.
Sam O'Leary scored Granville's first goal off an assist from Christian Stevens. Farrell extended the lead to 3-0 at the break with his first two goals of the afternoon.
Farrell scored two more goals in the second half to put the game away for the Golden Horde. Stevens added another assist.
Gavin Wickham scored for the Toamhawks.
Caden Powers had seven saves for Granville. Owen Baker stopped eight shots for Corinth.
Granville is 2-5, 2-5. Corinth is 0-7, 1-9.

Barber Hat Trick Leads Granville Over Emma Willard
Haylie Barber recorded a hat trick as Granville continued to roll in Adirondack-Wasaren League field hockey with a 5-0 road win over Emma Willard.
Barber gave Granville a 2-0 lead at the half with her first two goals. Melissa Beaver and Reagan Swain assisted.
Barber scored the first goal of the second half to complete the hat trick.
Kali Duel and Rachel Beaver added second half goals.
Swain and Melissa Beaver each picked up another assist.
Megan Decker had two saves in the cage for the Golden Horde. Gabby Possible had eight saves for Emma Willard.
Granville is now 7-1 on the season.
