Proctor Wins! McKearin Reaches 100 Goal Mark
Saturday was a banner day for the Proctor girls soccer program. Not only did the Phantoms cruise to a surprisingly easy 8-1 win over rival West Rutland, one of their star players reached a career milestone.
Maggie McKearin socred four goals for Proctor. The final was career goal number 100 for McKearin. McKerin's sister Abby is the all-time leading scorer in Vermont State girls soccer with 168 career goals.
McKearin helped get the Phantoms out to a big early lead. McKearin scored on a penalty kick to give her team a 1-0 lead.
Brooklyn Kimball then scored back-to-back goals to make it 3-0 Proctor. Laci French assisted on the first Kimball goal.
McKearin scored her second goal of the match to give the Phantoms a 4-0 halftime advantage.
In the second half Isabel Greb got into the act. Greb scored a goal and assisted on a tally by Emma Palmer to make it 6-0. McKearin assisted on Greb's goal.
McKearin then found the back of the net twice more to hit the 100 mark.
Izzy Griffith scored for the Golden Horde.
Proctor is 4-0. West Rutland is 2-1.

Granville Bounces Back with Field Hockey Win
The Granville field hockey team bounced back from a tough loss to Hoosick Falls but blanking Emma Willard 4-0 in a game player at a neutral field in Schuylerville.
Granville led 1-0 at the half on a goal from Haylie Barber, assisted by Katie McEachron.
McEachron gave the Golden Horde a 2-0 lead in the third quarter off of a pass from Raegan Swain. Swain also scored in the period on assists from Swain and Melissa Beaver to make it 3-0.
Ashley Pratt scored the final goal on a breakaway set up by a nice scoop by Rachel Beaver.
Megan Decker earned the shutout in goal, the first of her varsity career for Granville. Decker recorded three saves.
Granville is 1-1, 2-1. Emma Willard is 0-1.

Fort Ann Topples Jags
The Fort Ann girls soccer team rolled to a 5-1 non-league win over Johnsburg-Minerva on Saturday. The Cardinals pulled away with a four-goal second half.
Fort Ann led 1-0 at halftime on an Angel Aratare goal at the 31 minute mark.
Aratare made it 2-0 Fort Ann early in the second half off of an assist from Cherokie Steves.
Paige Trzaskos, Olivia Winchell and Brooke Wright also scored second half goals for the Cardinals.
Aratare, Winchell and Riley Echeandia picked up assists.
Julia Morse scored for Johnsburg-Minerva, assisted by Hannah McNally.
Baylee Wright was not forced to even make a save in the Fort Ann goal.
Charlize Bernard had 13 stops for Johnsburg-Minerva.
