Proctor Girls Roll on Senior Day

The Proctor girls soccer team did what they typically do on their Senior Day at Taranovich Field Tuesday afternoon. The Phantoms kept their 2021 ledger perfect as they rolled over Long Trail 10-0 in SVL girls soccer.

Fittingly, Senor Maggie McKearin scored four goals to lead the Phantoms. McKearin, who scored her 100th goal a couple of weeks ago continued to add to her career total while also recording two assists.

Emma Palmer had two goals and an assist for Proctor.

Laci French, Isabel Greb, and Dez Traverse also hit the back of the net for the Phantoms.

McKearin, Laci French, Jasmine Traverse, Megan Cole, Angel Traverse, Dez Traverse and Katelynn Regula were honored before playing their last regular season game on their home pitch.

Traverse recorded the shutout in goal for Proctor.

Proctor is 13-0 on the season.


Tanagers Get Out the Broom on Senior Night

The Hartford volleyball tean celebrated their Senior Night at the Ella Colvin Gymnasium on Tuesday, sweeping Hadley-Luzerne 3-0 in an Adirondack League match.

Set scores were 25-16, 25-9, and 25-13.

Karlee Nims had seven kills for the Tanagers. Sarah Monroe added six kills and seven digs. Izzy French handed out 13 assists. Gabbie McFarren recorded five aces and four digs. Mary Sutliff had eight service points.

For Hadley-Luzerne Lindsey Grey had five service points and four aces. Riley Daniels chipped in three assists, two aces and two digs. Jhlanna Baker had two aces and two digs.

Nims, Monroe, McFarren, French and Sutliff were all honored before the match.

Hartford is now 11-2, 14-2. Hadley-Luzerne is 3-11, 4-12.

JV-Hartford won 2-0. Set scores 25-10, 25-11.


Hadley-Luzerne Advances in Class C

Hadley-Luzerne cruised into the Class C boys soccer quarterfinals as they blanked Bishop Gibbons 4-0 on their home pitch. The Eagles advance to meet #6 Middleburgh Thursday at 3 p.m.

Connor Moulton gave Hadley-Luzerne a 1-0 lead at the 17:39 mark of the first half. Caeden Wilson assisted.

Mason Conklin made it 2-0 at the 27:01 mark of the second haf with an assist from Finn Doherty.

Moulton and Conklin each struck again less than three minutes apart to put it away for the Eagles.

Zack Caldwell earned the shutout for the Eagles with five saves.


Rutland Wins SVL A Division Cross Country Title

The Rutland cross country team had another successful day at the Southern Vermont League A Divsion championship meet at Bellows Falls.

The Ravens won the boys championship with a score of 28.

Brady Geisler repeated as the individual champion with a time of 16.18.

Owen Dube-Johnson was third for Rutland with a 17:03 and Karver Butler fourth with a 17:20.

On the girls side the Rutland girls were secnd with a score of 52. Thetford won the event.

Steph Ager of Bellows Falls earned the individual title with a time of 19:21.

Erin Geisler finished in thrid for the Raves with a 20:38. Evangeline Taylor finished fourth in 20:39.

Mill River’s Annika Heintz won the individual girls event at the SVL B Division event held in White River Junction at Hartford High School.
