Hadley-Luzerne Rallies Past Golden Horde

The Hadley-Luzerne girls soccer team struggled to find their legs after a double overtime game on Wednesday night, but captured their second wind late as they rallied to defeat Granville 4-2 in an Adirondack League match.

Carolina Lott-Diamond gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead on a shot from 20 yards out that slipped between the crossbar and the fingertips of Golden Horde goalie Kiera Rice.

Granville equalized on an own goal after a ball lofted into the box by Laura Arnhold was headed in by a Hadley-Luzerne defender.

The Golden Horde took a 2-0 advantage at the half on a goal from Hannah Ingleston.

The Eagles dominated possession in the second half. They regained the lead on back-to back- gaols from Hannah Johnson. On both goals Johnson was left alone on the back post and fired the ball past Rice.

Hadley-Luzerne put the game away late on a header by Lott-Diamond to make it 4-2.

Both Rice and Hadley-Luzerne goalie Madison Lent played strong games in goal.
