Slaters, Devils Named to All-State Football All-Stars


The coaches of the Vermont Interscholastic Football League recently named their 2021 All-State Team, and local players from Fair Haven and Poultney were well represented.


In Division II here are the Fair Haven Slaters who were selected:


First Team

Matt Heibler, Fair Haven wide receiver, Sawer Ramey, Fair Haven defensive back


Honorable Mention

Luke Williams, Fair Haven Tight End and defensive line , David Doran, Fair Haven offensive line, Phil Bean, Fair Haven defensive line, Josh Williams, Fair Haven defensive line, Wyatt Cusanelli, Fair Haven linebacker, Tim Kendall, Fair Haven linebacker, Bill Lussier, Fair Haven linebacker, Carson Babbie, Fair Haven defensive back, Sam Barber, Fair Haven defensive back, Trey Lee, Fair Haven defensive back

Salem Wins Second in a Row


The Salem boys basketball team continued their fast start to the season as they defeated Cambridge 57-46 in a non-league contest.


The Generals led 12-6 after the first quarter and 28-18 at halftime.


A 17-12 third quarter allowed Cambridge to close the deficit to five heading to the fourth,but a 17-11 final stanza gave Salem the win.


Zachariah Miller led the Generals with 19 points, six rebounds and four steals. Connor Chilson had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.


Camrbridge was paced by 16 points from Isaac Toleman.


Salem is 2-0. Cambridge is 0-1.
