OESJ Edges Fort Ann in Class D Final
Fort Ann jumped out to a first half lead, but OESJ rallied for a pair of second half goals to edge the Cardinals 1-0 in the Section II Class D girls soccer final at Stillwater High School.
The Cardinals fiished 4-4-4 during the Fall II season in the spring, but were able to show solid improvement to advance all they way to the title game. They were also able to end Lake George's 58 game Adirondack League win streak during the season.
Fort Ann led 1-0 at halftime. Marissa Lunt scored on a long shot in the first half as the Cardinals struck first.
Jordan DeNinno equalized for the Wolf Pack in the second half to make it 1-1.
Nataley Caponera score the game-winner for OESJ later in the half.
Fort Ann should have a bright future ahead. This may be just the start as the Cardinals did not have a senior on their roster this year.
“It’s a tough way to end, but I’m still proud of my girls. They fought hard all season," Fort Ann coach Jason Humiston said.
Fort Ann finishes the year 12-4-2.

This is the first of many big announcements about new things coming to Border Country Sports between now and basketball season.
ScoreStream allows you to quickly score games and share sport scores with friends and family. Now when you come to our Border Country Sports website you will be able to gat up to date scores to find out how your team is doing.
We will be posting scores from all Adirondack League teams as well as Poultney, Fair Haven, Proctor, West Rutland, Rutland, MSJ, and Mill River in Vermont.
We will also soon be featuring a Scorestream Scoreboard on our socreboard page. I expect that to be up later today.
