Class D Softball Final Today
The Section II Class softball title will be contested today, and it will be a pair of Adirondack League teams that will play for the championship.
#1 Salem and #2 Argyle will face off at Moreau Rec for the Class D crown today at 5 p.m.
The Generals and Scots split a pair of regular season meetings. Salem won the first game between the teams 14-4 back on April 5th. Argyle played much better in the rematch, and took a 3-0 win on May 13th in a crossover game.

Cosmos Hand Proctor First Softball Loss
The Springfield softball team celebrated their Senior Night on Wednesday by handing Proctor their first loss of the season, edging the Phantoms 4-2.
Izzy Belisle of Springfield and Proctor's Cadence Goodwin hooked up in a pitcher's deul with Belisle's team rallying late to grab the win.
Proctor led 2-1 in the fifth inning, but the Cosmos socred three runs in the fifth to take the lead and never gave it back.
Belisle earned the win in the circle, spinning a four hitter with six strikeouts.
Goodwin struck out nine for Proctor.
Goodwin tripled and had two RBis at the plate for the Phantoms.
Ari Cioffi, Jill Muther and Mckenzie Sidler had key hits for Springfield.
Proctor is now 11-1. Springfield is 7-8.

Granville Unified Team Edged by Bulldogs
The Granville Unified basketball team traveled to South Glens Falls on Monday and dropped a close 61-59 contest. The game was tight throughout with the Bulldogs taking the lead in the closing minutes.
"We were so impressed with the players. They all did a great job," said Granville coach Katie Barber. "The score is a reflection of how good our team does shooting."
Dean Angove paced the Golden Horde with 20 points. Cody McMorris-Lawless added 10 points including a pair of 3-pointers. Andrew Barnes also had 10 points. Shawn Sparks had nine points, all from behind the arc.
Zander Wilson chipped in six points and Connor Martin four.
Cody Devino again was praised for his work as a partner player.
"He helps the students on the court and makes a lot of things happen," Barber added.
Granville is scheduled to play Queensbury at home today at 3:00 p.m.
