Golden Horde Blank Whitehall on Senior Day


There could not be a better way to celebrate Senior Day for the Granville baseball team. The Golden Horde sent off their soon to be graduates in fine fashion as they blanked rival Whitehall 10-0 in their Adirondack League finale. Granville plays in the ADK Tournament semifinals today against Salem at Ken Burch Field.


Caleb Nelson pitched the first three innings for Granville. Nelson struck out the first nine batters.


Collin Norton pitched the final two innings, giving up just one hit and striking out two.


Connor Farrell was 2 for 4 with three RBIs for Granville. Norton was 2 for 2 with two doubles and drove in a pair of runs. Logan Harrington doubled.


Tyler Brooks and Landon Rozell had the hits for the Railroaders.


Granville is 9-1, 9-2. Whitehall is 4-5.

Whitehall Softball Nips Hudson Falls


The Whitehall softball team continues to impress. The Railroaders knocked off their third Foothills Council opponent of the season, nipping Hudson Falls 3-1. Whitehall defeated Schuylerville and Queensbury earlier in the season.


Madi Gould pitched a one-hitter and struck out 12 to lead the Railroaders to the win.


Blake Bird was 2 for 4 at the plate for Whitehall. Braydee Benjamin had a pair of singles. Brooke Benjamin added an RBI double. Gould also doubled.


Madison Sawyer doubled for the only Tiger hit.


Whitehall is now 9-1. Hudson Falls is 10-6.


The Railroaders open play in the Adirondack League Tournament today when they host Warrensburg in the semifinals at 5:15 p.m.

Proctor Edges Arlington


The Proctor baseball team picked up their best win of the season as they edged Arlington 7-6 in walk off fashion.


Brogan Shehee connected on a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh to hand the Phantoms the win.


Jacob Patch earned the win on the bump, going six innings. Patch gave up five hits and struck out 13.


Bode Richardson had two hits for Proctor including driving in the tying run.


Aaron Brock added three hits while Patch had two hits and two RBIs..

Westside Softball Rolls Twin Valley


No Peyton Guay. No problem. West Rutland was without their ace pitcher but it didn't matter as they rolled over Twin Valley 25-7 on their home field.


Gabby Griffith and Bella Combs filled in for Guay who was unavailable and got the job done. Griffith pitched for the first three innings and Coombs closed the game out the final two. The pair combined for a one-hitter.


Arianna Coombs hit a home run doubled for Westside. Bella Coombs added a triple and Aubrey Beaulieu doubled. Emma Beede had her first varsity base hit for the Golden Horde.


Olivia Bills tripled for the only hit for the Wildcats.


West Rutland improves to 6-3.
