Benington Martens to Hold Combine Series


Have you ever dreamed of playnig professional basketball? Do you have college playing experience? Can you commit to 3 or 4 day work weeks? Do you want the opportunity to play pro basketball abroad? If you answered yes to any of these questons, the Bennington Martens of the American Basketball Association are looking for you.


The Martens recently announced that they will be holding the Bennington Martens Combine Series this summer as they search for players to sign for the 2022-2023 season. There will be one showcase and four tryout sessions.


On June 10th the Martens will hold their first showcase at Albany Leadership Charter School, 19 Hackett Boulevard in Albany. This showcase will begin at 7 p.m. This event if free of charge.


The Martens will hold their first of four tryout sessions the following night, June 11th also at Albany Leadership Charter at 7 p.m.


The second June tryout session will take place June18th at Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington at 7 p.m. MAUMS is located 747 East Rd.


The Martens will hold a pair of tryout sessions in July. The first one will be held at Albany Charter Leadership on July 9th at 7 p.m.


The second July session will be July 16th back at Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington at 7 p.m.


The cost to tryout is $100 per player per session. Any player who enrolls in all four tryour sessions were receive $25 off the price of each session.

Fort Ann Defeats Scots in ADK Baseball


Fort Ann raced out to a lead in the first inning and they made it stick as they defeated Argyle 9-3 on Satrday in Adirondack League baseball.


Callon Sutliff went the distance on the bump for the Cardinals, scattering six hits and striking out seven.


Fort Ann opened up a 5-0 lead in the first before the Scots answered with a three spot in the second.


The Cardinals plated a run in the fourth and three in the sixth to pull away and secure the win.


Josh Dornan was 2 for 3 with an RBI at the plate for Fort Ann. Jack Dornan and and Dakota Winch had two RBIs each.


Nate Stanley was 2 for 3 for Aryle. Brandon Saunders and Jacobi Depew each added hits.


Fort Ann is 3-4, 4-4.
