Blue Devils Down Sharon in Coaches vs. Cancer Game
The annual Coaches vs. Cancer event is always huge for the Poultney basketball programs. All of the Poultney teams participate in the fundraising activity. Last night was the Blue Devil's boys night and they came through in flying colors.
Poultney jumped out to a first quarter lead, and went on to down Sharon 52-38 in an SVL contest.
The Blue Devils led 14-6 after a quarter and extended the lead to 12 at the break.
Sharon got as close to six in the second half, but Poultney was able to blow the game back open, leading by as much as 17.
Marcus Lewis netted 17 points to pace Poultney. Craig Baptie added 11 and Brooks Filscov eight.
Peyton Book controlled the boards for the Blue Devils, grabbing 17 rebounds.
Poultney is now 5-7 on the season.

Warrensburg Rolls Over Scots
Don't look now, but the Warrensburg girls basketball is a contender again. The Burghers have lost several key players to graduation the last couple of years, but great programs don't rebuild. They reload. And Scott Smith's Burghers seem to do just that.
Warrensburg raced out to big lead at halftime and then pulled away from there as the rolled over Argyle 52-18 in Adirondack League play.
All eight Burgers put their names in the box score.
Warrensburg led 11-5 after a quarter and 21-8 at halftime.
The Burghers blew the game open with a 31-10 second half advantage.
Hope Sherman had a double-double for Warrensburg with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She also handed out three assists.
Karla Sherman added 14 points. Audrey Steves hauled in 12 boards.
Kara Bacon and Karla Sherman played solid on the defensive end of the floor.
Lilian Arellano had seven points for the Scots. Lily Kingsley added six.
Warrensburg is now 8-2, 10-4. Argyle is 2-6, 5-7.

Argyle Boys Used Balanced Attack to Down Cardinals
13 must be the lucky nimber for the Argyle boys basketball team. Four Scots scored 13 points as they used a balanced scoring effort to defeat Fort Ann 72-45 in an Adirondack League contest.
Argyle led 17-10 after the first eight minutes. The second quarter proved decisive as the Scots poured in 23 points to lead 40-22 at the break.
A 21-10 third quarter put the game out of rach for the Scots.
Justin McWhorter, Hunter Ingram, Brandon Saunders and Brad Koopman had 13 points apiece for Argyle.
Cullen Jackson led the Cardinals with 18 points. Jack Dornan added 11.
Argyle is 8-2, 12-3. Fort Ann is 4-8, 5-9.
