Ramey Explodes for 41, Slaters Top Canes


Since taking over the point gurad role for the Fair Haven boys basketball team, junior Sawyer Ramey has been one ot the area's most prolific scorers. Wednesday night in White River Junction Ramey exploded for a career high as the Slaters topped Hartford 74-61.


Sawyer poured in a career high 41 points in the contest. He knocked down six 3-pointers and made 13 foul shots.


The Hurricanes stayed close in the first half, playnig Fair Haven to a 28-28 tie.


The third quarter proved decisive as the Slaters outscored Hartford 23-9.


Sam Barber chipped17 points for Fair Haven.


Jacob Seaver led Hartford with 20 points. Tarin Prior had 19.


Fair Haven is 7-0 and will travel across the New York border Saturday to meet Granville in what has become an entertaining cross-state rivalry.

Whitehall Rolls Over Stillwater


The stellar Whitehall defense was on full display Wednesday night as the Railroaders blanked Stillwater in the first quarter and rolled past the Warriors 44-16 in a non-league contest in Whitehall.


The Railroaders led 21-0 after the first quarter, scoring nearly half their points for the night. Whitehall extended the lead to 31-4 at the half.


The Warriors were only outscored 13-11 in the second half, but the outcome was already long decided.


Samantha Howland continued her rise for the Railroaders as she scored 16 points. Madison Gould added seven and Blake Bird six.


Whitehall is now 10-3 on the season.

Hadley-Luzerne Stifles Lake George


The Hadley-Luzerne girls basketball scored almost all the points they needed in the first quarter as they stifled Lake George 40-12 in an Adirondack League matchup.


The Eagles led 11-4 after a quarter and used a 10-0 second stanza to take a 21-4 lead at the break.


An 11-3 third quarter put the game out of reach for Hadley-Luzerne.


Madison Lent led Hadley-Luzerne with 20 points. Gabby Graham added nine.


Jordanna Kenny hauled down 15 rebounds.

North Warren Defeats Cardinals


North Warren took a commanding lead in the first half and went on to defeat Fort Ann 37-13 in an Adirondack League meeting.


The Cougars led 10-1 after a quarter and 22-3 at halftime.


North Warren ouscored the Cardinals 15-10 in the second half to insure the victory.


Nicole Buckman netted 16 points for North Warren. Kiana LaGuerre and Sarah McGarr added six points each.


Angel Aratare had five points for Fort Ann.
