Blue Devils Win Third Straight


The Poultney girls basketball team had high expectations coming into this season. Things did go as plan at first as the Blue Devils dropped their first four games. The tide seems to be turning. Poultney won their third straight game and won for the first time at home as they topped Arlington 41-34 in an SVL contest.


It looked their recent streak may come to an abrupt end early on. The Eag;es jumped out to a 13-3 lead. The Blue Devils poured in 18 second quarter points to take the lead and held off the Eagles from there.


Kaitlyn DeBonis paced Poultney by netting 10 points. Emily Handley chipped in eight.


Sidney Herrington led Arlington with 11 points. while Katerina Gordon and Taylor Wilkins had 10 points each.


Poultney is now 3-4 on the season.

Proctor, McKearin Girls Roll Over Terriers


The Proctor girls basketball team remained red hot as they rolled over Bellows Falls 76-33 in SVL action. The win was the fifth in a row for the Phantoms.


Maggie McKearin had a huge game for the Phantoms, outscoring the Terriers by nine by herself. McKearin poured in a career high 42 points.


Isabel Greb added 18 points for Proctor.


Proctor is now 5-1 on the season.

Cardinals Defeat Salem Boys


Fort Ann opened a 10 point lead in the first half and never let it go as they defeated Salem 47-36 in Adirondack League boys basketball action.


The Cardinals led 15-7 after a quarter and 25-15 at the half.


The Generals played a better second half, only being outscored 10-9 by Fort Ann in the third and playing the Cardinals even in the fourth, but the damage was already done.


Dylan Brown led Fort Ann with 16 points. Callon Sutliff added 10 and Jack Dornan 10.


Connor Chilson had 19 points and 10 steals for a double-double for Salem. Altwon Webster chipped in 10.


Fort Ann is 4-4, 5-5. Salem is 4-10.

Lake George Takes Down Tanagers


The high scoring duo of Cameron Orr and Julius Moffit proved to be too much for Hartford. Lake George got a combined for 47 points as Lake George took down Hartford 55-32 in an Adirondack League matchup.


The Warriors led 17-8 after a quarter and increased the margin to 29-15 at halftime.


The Tanagers played Lake George close to even in the thrid quarter, but a 20-6 advantage in the fourth put the game out of reach for the Warriors.


Orr closed the night with 30 points and Moffit 17.


Luke Sheldon pulled down 17 board.


JP Lavin had eight points for Hartford. Ray Harrington added seven.
