Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Blog, I'm Keith Harrington.

MSJ Edges Slaters in Thriller

Two of the top programs in Rutland Country went at it on Monday night and fans didn't walk away disappointed. MSJ got a couple of late foul shots to edge Fair Haven 50-49 in an SVL thriller.

Fair Haven had used a 12-0 fourth quarter run to open up a five point lead. Baskets by Jake Williams and Andre Printy cut the lead to one with 1:35 to play.

Printy then connected on a pair of foul shots to give the Mounties the 50-49 lead. Fair Haven had a couple of opportunities to claim the win, but the MSJ defense thwarted the effort.

Printy led MSJ with 24 points. Peter Carlson had nine points and eight rebounds for the Mounties. Jake Williams contributed eight points and 14 rebounds.
