Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Blog, I'm Keith Harrington.


Slaters Sweep Golden Horde


The Fair Haven boys basketball team bounced back from a loss, sweeping the season series with cross-border rival Granville, rolling past the Golden Horde 72-44.


The Slaters led 24-5 after a quarter and put the game away with a 25 point third quarter.


Sam Barber paced the Slaters with 19 points. Sawyer Ramey added 14 for Fair Haven. Brandon Eastman had 12 and Joe Buxton 10.


Caleb Nelson led the Golden Horde with 16 points.


Fair Haven is now 12-4.


Granville is 11-8 and will host Whitehall on Thursday.

Argyle Girls Avenge Loss to Horde


Argyle avenged a recent loss to Granville, defeating the Golden Horde 68-48 in an Adirondack League crossover game.


Kylee Humiston had a huge game for the Scots, pouring in 33 points.


Argyle led 16-9 after the first quarter and 37-17 at the half.


A 23-13 fourth quarter put the game away for the Scots.


Lillianna Kinglsey also had a solid game for Argyle with 24 points.


Lilly Stout led Granville with 14. Melissa Beaver added 10.


Argyle heads into the sectionals with a 9-11 mark.


Granville's season comes to an end at 5-15.

Blue Devils Defeat Sharon


The Poultney boys basketball team went on the road and defeated Sharon 44-39 in an SVL contest. The win was a bounced back for the Blue Devils after a tough loss to Bellows Falls this weekend.


Poultney held a narrow 32-31 lead after three quarters and finished off the Phoenix in the final eight minutes.


Mason Boudreau had 13 points to lead the Blue Devils. Marcus Lewis added 10 and Craig Baptie eight. Donald Olden chipped in seven.


Riley Eastman led the Sharon with 23 points


Poultney is now 6-10.

Fair Haven Girls Holds Off Otter Valley


Otter Valley battled Fair Haven right to the end at the House of Noise, but the Slaters were able to prevail 47-40.


Fair Haven led 24-13 in the second quarter, but Otter Valley used a 4-0 spurt to pull within 24-17 at the half.


Brittney Love led Fair Haven with 23 points and hit key free throws down the stretch with the Slaters leading 43-40.


Love was 10 of 12 from the foul line for Fair Haven in the contest.


Alana Williams added eight points and 10 rebounds for the Slaters. Lily Briggs had 10 boards as well.


Alice Keith finished with 16 points for the Otters, including 12 of 15 from the free throw line. Elena Politano added 13 points.


Fair Haven is 14-5. Otter Valley is 8-10.
