Hartford Remains Unbeaten
The Hartford girls basketball team remained unbeaten on the season, going on the road to take down Hadley-Luzerne 58-26 in an Adirondack League contest.
The second quarter proved to be the difference in this one. Hartford led 13-7 after a quarter, but turned up the wick on defense over the next eight minutes, shutting out the Eagles 20-0 to lead 33-7 at the half.
The Eagles played better in the second half, only being outscored 25-19, but the second quarter onslaught by the Tanagers was too much to overcome.
Karlee Nims who hit the 1,000 point mark earlier in the week led Hartford with 18 points. Gabrielle McFarren also scored 18 points. 8th grader McKenzie Johnson added 11, including nine points from behind the arc.
Gabby Mosher had 10 points for Hadley-Luzerne. Sarah Abbott collected nine rebounds.
Hartford moves to 3-0, 6-0. Hadley-Luzerne is 1-2, 1-3.
