Border Country Sports Blog-December 23rd

Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Blog, I'm Keith Harrington.

Prenevost Records 500th Career Coaching Win

I have known Bob Prenevost for many years. I have even faced him when I was the coach of the Poultney girls when he was coaching the Whitehall girls team. I always tried my best to outcoach him. I didn't! Besides being one of the best coaches ever to roam the sidelines, he is also as classy of a person as you ever want to meet.

Last night Prenevost earned his 500th career coaching win as Fair Haven defeated Woodstock 63-42 in an SVL contest on the Slater's home court.

After the game his grandson, point guard Sawyer Ramey presented Prenevost with the game ball. The veteran coach will add the 500 win game ball to his collection.

The game and the milestone victory were never in doubt. Fair Haven came out of the gate faced, quicky fashioning an 18-0 lead. The Slaters extended the lead to 40-13 at the half and were never challenged.

Ramey led Fair Haven with 27 points, including knocking down five 3-pointers. Brandon Eastman added eight points for the Slaters.

Cooper Corsogna had 20 points for the Wasps.

Fair Haven is 2-0. Woodstock is 1-4.
