Argyle Edges Golden Horde
The Argyle and Granville boys basketball teams have had some great battles the last few seasons, and Tuesday was no exception. The Scots used a strong third quarter to earn the Adirondack League win.
Granville led 15-11 after a quarter, but an 18-5 second quarter gave the Golden Horde a 29-20 advantage at the half.
Argyle responded with a 15-5 third quarter to take a one point lead heading to the fourth. The Scots outscored the Golden Horde by three in the fourth to secure the victory.
Derek Liddle led Argyle with 21 points. Dru Austin added 12. Justin McWhorter had eight points and 18 rebounds.
Caleb Nelson had 17 points for Granville. Cody Nelson chipped in 15 and Alex Warrington nine.
Argyle is 2-0, 2-0. Granville is 1-1, 1-1.

Hartford Boys Roll Over Fort Ann
Hartford fashioned a double-digit lead at the half and pulled away over the final 16 minutes to roll over Fort Ann 60-34 in Adirondack League boys basketball.
The Tanagers led 23-11 at halftime, but really opened up in the second half. The third quarter proved to be decisive as Hartford outscored the Cardinals 22-4.
Cody Baker paced Hartford with 19 points. Ray Harrington added 18. Austin Wells chipped in 10.
Fort Ann got a double-double from Jack Dornan with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Hartford is 2-1, 4-2. Fort Ann is 1-2, 2-3.

Generals Hold Off Flying Forts
Salem opened a nine point first quarter lead then held off Fort Edward the rest of the way, defeating the Flying Forts 61-51 in Adirondack League boys basketball.
Salem led 13-4 after a quarter, but Fort Edward exploded for 21 points in the second quarter to pull within 29-25 at the half.
The Generals recovered with a 19-7 third quarter advantage that propelled them to the win.
Connor Chilson had another stellar game for Salem, firing in 25 points. Altwan Webster added 13 for the Generals. Patrick Stone had 12.
Bradley Kamburelis led Fort Edward with 22 points. Ashton Sullivan added 16.
Salem moves to 2-1, 4-3. Fort Edward drops to 0-2, 1-4.

Argyle Girls Outlast Golden Horde
The Granville girls basketball team played a solid first half and hung tough against Argyle on their home court, but in the end the Scots had too much firepower in a 61-49 win.
Kylee Humiston was the difference in this contest as she fired in 26 points. Granville led 13-10 after the first quarter, and 24-22 at the break.
A 20-11 third quarter by the Scots shifted the momentum and they went on to pull away from there. Humiston hit back to back treys to spark the Argyle second half run.
Lillianna Kingsley added 17 points for Argyle. Hannah Brady contributed 12 points.
Lilly Strout and Aspen Williams both had double-doubles for the Golden Horde. Strout had 15 points and 15 rebounds. Williams had 11 points and 16 boards. Melissa Beaver handed out five assists.
Argyle is 1-2, 2-2. Granville is 0-1, 0-2.
