Blue Devils Drop Opener to Mid-Vermont Christian

The Poultney girls basketball team has high expectations this season, but they ran into a buzzsaw last night in their opener. Goodwin poured in 34 of her team's 44 points to lead MVC to the win.

The Wildcats took a 14-2 first quarter lead, and that proved to be the difference. MVC increased the lead to 21 points heading to the fourth.

Poultney fell behind by 23 to start the fourth, but were able to cut the lead to 11 before running out of time.

Kaitlyn DeBonis led Poultney with nine points. Annaleice Taylor added seven for the Blue Devils.
