Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Blog, I'm Keith Harrington.

Poultney Earns Montana First Win

Todd Montana certainly has a ton of experience coaching basketball. Montana most recently has coached at Green Mountain College and LaSell College. Montana's return to Poultney, this time at the helm of the Blue Devils, was a triumphant one. Poultney used a stifling defense to open up a big first half lead and went on to defeat Twin Valley 33-21 in the opening round of the Bob Abrahamson Tip-Off Tournament in Proctor.

The Blue Devils held the Widlcats to just a single first half point, heading to the break with a 17-1 lead.

Twin Valley played better in the second half, actually outscoring Poultney 20-16, but the damage had already been done.

Mason Boudreau provided the bulk of the Blue Devil's offense, pouring in 22 points. Ryan Simons and Marcus Lewis added six apiece.

Liam Wendel scored 10 points for the Wildcats.

Poultney will meet Proctor in tonight's championship game.
