Glens Falls Hand Whitehall First Softball Loss


Addy Hill of Glens Falls and Madi Gould of Whitehall hooked up in a classic pitching matchup as the Indians handed the Railroaders 2-1 loss in a non-league contest. It was the first loss of the season for Whitehall.


Hiil fired allowed just five hits and struck out six in earning the win in the circle.


Gould was also outstanding, spinning a two-hitter with 14 Ks.


Glens Falls put up a two spot in the bottom of the first and it turned out to be all of the offense they needed.


Whitehall cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the seventh and was threatening in for more when a Glens Falls 2-5-3 double play ended the game.


Kiersten Stevens and Gina Endieveri had the hits for the Indians.


Gould was 2 for 4 at the plate for the Railroaders. Olivia Whiting double.


Glens Falls is 1-2. Whitehall is 4-1.

Fair Haven Softball Opens With Victory


The Fair Haven softball team opened their 2022 season with a 17-10 win over Springfield in an SVL contest.


Olivia Almeida went 3-for-4 at the plate to pace the Slaters. Mercedes Cathcart also connected for a pair of hits. Reilly Marsden doubled.


Ashley Carvey earned the win in the circle for Fair Haven with relief help from Tori Raymond.


Fair Haven is 1-0. Springfield is 0-1.

Poultney Baseball Defeats West Rutland


Poultney began the season on a winning note as they defeated West Rutland 10-6 in SVL baseball. The win marked the first career win for new Blue Devil coach Brian DeBonis.


Hagen McDermott led Poultney with four hits. Hub Sosnoff and Tait Capman also had solid games at the plate with multiple hits.


Lucas Milazzo earned the win on the bump.


Poultney is 1-0. Westside is 0-1.

Lake George Rolls Over Corinth


Lake George jumped out to a large lead and rolled past Corinth 26-3 in Adirondack League baseball.


The Warriors led 9-0 after two innings and scored eight more runs in the fifth and nine in the seventh.


Matt Dickinson eanred the win on the mound for Lake George. Dickinson struck out seven.


JJ Salmon was 4 for 4 for the Warriors with two doubles and two RBIs. Yogi Johnson was 3 for 5. Brendan Lamby was 2 for 4 with a double. Matthew Johnson added a pair of hits.


Dickinson, Nate Hohman and Brody McCabe all doubled.


Lake George is 3-0, 4-0.
