Third Time's The Charm As Hartford Wins TCML Eastern Division Crown
Hartford had lost to Whitehall twice during the regular season, but the third time was the charm as the Tanagers defeated Whitehall 23-11 in to claim the TCML Eastern Division crown. Hartford advances to face Western Division champion Warrensburg in Friday's title tilt.
Hartford took at advantage of three hit batters to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
Whitehall scored two runs in the first and two more in the second to take a 4-1 advantage.
The Tanagers plated four runs in the fourth to lead 7-4, but Whitehall answered with four in the bottom of the frame to lead 8-7.
It was all Hartford after that. The Tanagers scored 11 runs in the fifth to lead 18-8. Whitehall scored two runs in the fifth to extend the game, but Hartford tacked on five in the sixth and held put the game away via the run rule.
Jace Venner earned the win on the mound for Hartford with relief help from Kile Whitney.
Joe Allen had a double and two singles for the Tanagers. Spencer Fehl added three singles. John Gauthier doubled. Braden Whitney and Kile Whitney also had hits.
Porter Sliva had a tripled for Whitehall. Anthony Towle doubled and singled. Kohl Plude, Steven Mattison and Mason Cigana also added hits.
Hartford is 6-6-1. Whitehall ends the season. 10-3-1.

Warrensburg Edges Hudson Falls For TCML Western Division Title
Keith Sonely smacked a walk-off double to lift Warrensburg over Hudson Falls in the TCML Western Division championship game. Warrensburg advances to meet Eastern Division champion Hartford on Friday.
Warrenburg got out to a 2-0 first inning lead and led 5-2 after three innings of play.
Hudson Falls took a 7-5 lead in the sixth before the Burghers rallied in the bottom of the seventh.
Pierce Byrne went 3 for 3 with two doubles and four RBIs for Warrensburg. Caleb Remongton added a two-run double.
Byrne earned the win on the bump to run his season mark to 4-0.
Warrensburg is now 14-1 on the season.
