Hartford 8U Softball Team Honored


Hartford has enjoyed their fair share of success in softball over the years. And the future of Tanager softball appears to be bright.


The Hartford 8U softball team was honored for their successful season at a ceremony at Hartford Central School Monday evening. The Little Tanagers went unbeaten on the season and won the Southern Adirondack League playoff tournament.


Assemblyman Matt Simpson was on hand with citations for each player to congratulate them for their season.


Town of Hartford Supervisor Dana Haff and Hartford Youth Commission Board members were also in attendance to honor the team.


Congratulations Little Tanagers!

Hartford Advances in TCML Baseball Playoffs


Hartford took control early and pulled away to defeat Salem-Cambridge 15-5 in the quarterfinals of the Tri-County League baseball playoffs. Hartford advances to play Whitehall in the Eastern Division Final.


Hartford scored eight runs in the first three innings to take an 8-4 lead and were never challenged after that.


Hartford pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of nine hit batsmen and four errors by Salem-Cambridge.


Joe Allen scattered five hits to earn the win on the bump.


Logan Jensen was 4 for 5 with three RBIs to pace Hartford at the plate.


Kile Whitney was 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Spencer Fehl was 2 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs.

Warrensburg Edges Corinth in TCML Playoffs


Warrensburg scored four runs in the first inning and went on to edge Corinth 6-5 in the TCML quarterfinals. With the win Warrensburg advances to the Western Division final.


Warrensburg led 4-1 after the first and increased the lead to 6-3 after the fourth.


Corinth scored twice in the fifth to pull within a run but Warrensburg held on for the victory.


Caleb Remington earned the pitching win. Remington went four innings, allowing two hits and striking out five.


Louis Lang came on to earn the save, pitching three innings, giving up one run and striking out five.


Lang was also 3 for 3 at the plate. Remington added a two-run single.


Warresnburg is now 13-1 on the season.
