Blue Devils Outscore Green Mountain in Wold One
The Poultney softball team won their first game of the season as they outscored Green Mountain 18-15 in a wild SVl contest in Poultney Friday afternoon.
Kait DeBonis earned the win in the circle for the Blue Devils, striking out four while walking six.
Kaylah Bennett was 3 for 4 at the plate for Poultney with three doubles. Laura Winter was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles.
DeBonis was just short of the cycle with a single, double and triple.
Abby Williams went 3-for-5 for Green Mountain. Riley Paul went 2-for-4 for the Chieftains.
Poultney is 1-1 on the season.

Goodwin One-Hitter Leads Proctor
The Proctor softball team got an oustanding pitching performance from Cadence Goodwin as they cruised past Mill River 17-1 on Friday in SVL softball.
Goodwin spun a one-hitter for the Phantoms, striking out nine.
Angel Traverse smacked two triples and a double for Proctor. Isabel Greb had a single, double and triple. Zoe Reynolds had four singles. Laci French had a pair of doubles.
Casey Patch had the only hit for Mill River.
Proctor is 1-0.

Fair Haven Baseball Defeats Middlebury
The Fair Haven baseball team opened the season in fine fashion as they defeated Middlebury 16-3 in a contest shortened to five innings.
The Slaters wasted no time taking charge as they scored eight runs in the firts and never looked back.
Ethan Kelley and Alex Patch split the duties on the bump. Kelley went four innings, giving up four hits and striking out seven. Patch pitched the fifth.
Kelley had two hits for the Slaters. Trey Lee douled and added a pair of hits. Matt Heiblerchipped two RBI singles. Joe Buxton had an RBI triple.
Fair Haven is 1-0 on the season.
