Bolton-Warrensburg Girls, Boys Win Stillwater Tournament

The Bolton-Warrensburg girls soccer team scored late in the first half and made the goal stand up as they nipped Stillwater 1-0 to claim the championship of the Stillwater Tournament.


Kara Bacon scored with 8:22 remaining in the first half off a beautiful assist by Ella Moscov. Moscov played a through ball to Bacon resulting in a break-away opportunity where she was able to beat Stillwater’s keeper.


The goal by Bacon was all B-W needed as their defense made it hold up. Hope Sherman and the her defense consisting of Kailey Bacon, Karla Sherman, Maille Kelly, and Caitlin O’Donnell) recorded their second straight shutout to start the season.


Ila Hubert and Moscov did a great job controlling the center of the field according to B-W coach Scott Smith.


Sherman finished with 15 saves for B-W. Stillwater goalkeeper Miranda Price collected 12 saves.


Bolton-Warrensburg is 2-0. Stillwater is 1-1.


The Bolton-Warrensburg boys also brought home the hardware from the Stillwater Mehan Invitational Tournament. B-W scored in the first overtime to nab the 2-1 victory.


Dante Corriveau scored the game-winning goal at the 3:55 mark of the first extra session.


Stillwater took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Ben Rubenstein in the first half.


Louis Lang got B-W even off an A.J. Moore corner kick to tie the game in the 75th minute.


Keith Sonley had four saves for B-W in goal. Evan Coe had eight saves for the Warriors.


Bolton-Warrensburg is 2-0. Stillwater is 1-1.
