ADK Runners Compete at State Meet

Runners from the Adirondack League competed at the New York State Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Vernon Verona Sherrill High School. Lake George competed as a team in the Class D boys event. Granville's Amber Gibbs, Warrensburg's Brody Olden and Corinth/Hadley-Luzerne's Samantha Savage raced in Class C and Class D as individuals.
The Lake Geprge boys placed seventh in the Class D boys event. The Warriors won the Section II team championship a week ago.
Jason Ludlow was the highest Lake George finisher in 55th. James Richard was right behind Ludlow in 56th. Liam Fahey-Stack (66th), Caden Willett (78th), Samuel Burns (82nd), Brendan Battersea-Manna (87th) and Oliver Herrick (94th) rounded out the finshers for the Warriors.
Olden who was second in the Section II race closed out his second straight appearance at the state meet with a 37th place finish. Olden is the Adirondack League champion.
Gibbs, who is the Adirondack League champion and was fifth at sectionals placed 57th in the Class C girls race. This was the junior's first visit to the state meet.
Savage who is just an 8th grader finished 94th. She is the first runner from Hadley-Luzerne to qualify for the state meet in program history.
